There is need to ensure that there is continuity of information and adequate recovery of the same in business continuity planning and disaster recovery processes. Individuals and firms therefore have to improve their incident response capability in light of increasing attacks that are cyber security related. These attacks have become diverse and more disruptive while causing greater damage. The number of security related incidents cannot be completely reduced, but the incident response capability of individuals and firms can be improved to enable them to detect incidents promptly, minimize loss, mitigate any weaknesses exploited during such incidents and restore information and IT services back to normal (NIST 2012).
