Brief description of client Ernesto Rosado is a 7 year old Peruvian-American male who is an only child. He is in second grade and was brought to counseling by his adoptive parents. He appears to be his stated age. He is approximately 4’ tall and weighs 55 lbs., and he appears to be in good health. He is a handsome, bright-eyed, young male with two front teeth missing. He lives with his adoptive parents (John and Grace), which includes the original adoptive father and his new wife from remarrying. There is little known about Ernesto’s biological parents and his first adoptive mother (Lynn), who was married to John, passed away from Leukemia. Ernesto was neatly dressed, had good hygiene, and was well groomed. He made direct and appropriate eye contact, and has no notable physical characteristics. He appeared animated and lively, even though he protested highly against coming into the office without his mother and father. He became absorbed in play with toy soldiers. He demonstrated no difficultly with small motor movements and had good coordination. He demonstrated excellent skills at building barriers with larger blocks for a child his age. He spoke at a normal rate, rhythm, and volume for his age. The client had a 4 x 4 orientation. Ernesto demonstrated a healthy curiosity to his surroundings, but demonstrated a neediness and insistence to know where all toys were in the room that he could play with.
